The Search and Chat interface within the Orbit platform is designed to offer users a powerful and flexible way to query data, retrieve insights, and interact with the platform. This interface supports both search-based and chat-based interactions, making it a versatile tool for research and analysis.

1. Search Input Field

At the top of the interface is a large, prominent input field where users can type their queries. This field allows for natural language input, accommodating both simple keyword searches and more complex questions. Users can type in any query related to their research needs, such as specific company information, market trends, or document searches.

2. Search and Chat Toggle

To the right of the input field are options to switch between Chat and Search modes.

  • Chat Mode: When selected, the platform will process the query as a conversational input, allowing the AI copilot to provide a more interactive and contextually rich response.

  • Search Mode: In this mode, the platform will focus on retrieving relevant documents and data based on the query, presenting search results that match the input criteria.

3. Search Filters and Options

Below the input field, several filters and options are available to refine the search:

Entity Search

The Entity Search filter within the Orbit platform is a powerful tool that allows users to refine their searches based on specific entities such as companies, stocks, or other financial assets. This filter is designed to help users quickly locate the most relevant information by narrowing down the search to particular entities of interest.

1. Filter Options

The Entity Search filter offers three primary options for refining searches:

  • By Entity: This option is selected by default and focuses the search on specific entities. Users can enter the name, ticker symbol, or ISIN (International Securities Identification Number) of the entity they are interested in. This is ideal for users who already know the specific company or asset they want to analyze.

    • Company Filter: A text box is provided where users can input the specific name or identifier of the entity they wish to search for. This ensures that the search results are highly targeted, returning only the most relevant documents or data related to that entity.

  • By Scope: This option allows users to define a broader scope for their search, such as a specific country, stock exchange, or market capitalization range. This is useful for discovering new opportunities that meet certain investment criteria, without being limited to a single entity.

  • By Portfolio: With this option, users can search within a pre-defined portfolio of stocks, companies, or any entity types that they have already created. This is particularly useful for users managing multiple portfolios, as it allows them to focus their research on assets that are directly relevant to their existing investments.

2. Action Buttons

At the bottom of the filter panel, there are three action buttons:

  • Confirm: Once the desired filter criteria are set, the "Confirm" button applies the filter to the search, narrowing down the results based on the selected entities or scope.

  • Reset: This button clears any input or selections made in the filter, allowing users to start over and set new criteria.

  • Cancel: The "Cancel" button closes the filter panel without applying any changes, returning the user to the previous state of the search interface.

Knowledge Base

The Knowledge Base filter within the Orbit platform is a versatile tool that allows users to refine their searches by selecting specific categories of documents or data types from the platform’s extensive knowledge bases. This filter ensures that the search results are highly relevant to the user’s specific needs, focusing on the types of information most pertinent to their research.

Date Range Selector

Users can specify a date range for the search, ensuring that the results are relevant to a specific time period. This is particularly useful for time-sensitive research, such as analyzing trends or historical data within a certain timeframe.

Shortcut

The "Shortcut" option allows users to create and save specific search parameters for quick access in the future. This is ideal for recurring searches where the same filters and criteria are applied regularly.
