6.3 Portfolio News Tracker

The Portfolio News Tracker bot within the Orbit platform is designed to continuously monitor and aggregate key news related to a specified portfolio of companies. This bot filters and curates relevant information, ensuring that investors and analysts stay informed about significant developments that could impact their investments. By keeping track of news across a portfolio, users can quickly respond to market events, corporate announcements, and other critical updates that may affect their investment strategies.

What the Portfolio News Tracker Bot Does:

  • Continuous Monitoring: The bot continuously scans and aggregates news from various sources related to the companies in a user’s portfolio.

  • Relevance Filtering: It filters the news to ensure that only the most relevant and impactful information is surfaced, helping users avoid information overload and focus on what matters most.

  • Timely Updates: Users receive timely updates on significant developments, enabling them to make informed decisions based on the latest market intelligence.

Steps of the Setup:

The setup process for the Portfolio News Tracker bot is intuitive and organized into five steps, allowing users to tailor the bot’s functionality to their specific needs.

1. Define Basics

  • Batch Name: Start by assigning a name to the news tracking workflow. This name helps in identifying and managing multiple workflows within the platform.

  • Description: Add a description to provide context or specify the focus of the news tracking, such as which portfolio or types of news are most relevant.

2. Frequency Setup

  • Single or Recurring Execution: Users can choose whether the workflow runs just once or on a recurring schedule. This option is particularly useful for ongoing monitoring where continuous updates are needed.

3. Concept Selection

  • Selecting Concepts: Users can select the specific concepts that will guide the news filtering process. This ensures that the bot focuses on the most pertinent information for the user’s portfolio.

4. Entity Choice

  • Entity Selection: In this step, users select the entities (such as companies or sectors) within their portfolio that they want the bot to monitor. This helps in narrowing down the news feed to only those entities of interest.

5. Confirmation Receipt

  • Review and Confirmation: Before execution, users can review the workflow’s scope and settings. Once confirmed, the bot will start monitoring and aggregating news according to the defined parameters.
